MIAMI — Welcome to where all the magic happens for Vicky Bakery. The family owned business has been a Miami staple since the 70’s, with recipes that’s been passed down from generation to generation.

"Vicky Bakery was founded in 1972 by my father-in-law, Antonio Cao. It's a Cuban family that came to this country and started this dream," said Co-Founder of Vicky Enterprises, Amy Cao.

After decades of hard work, the demand for Cuban pastries extended way beyond South Florida. Now Vicky Bakery is shipping nationwide.

"The demand came from so many emails, calls, DMs, people wanting our product," said Amy Cao.

While many Cuban bakeries buy prepared foods in bulk, or sell pastelitos made by machine, Vicky’s items are made by hand from scratch.

"We produce everything here. We have the boxes, sugar, bags of flour, all of the ingredients," said Co-Founder of Vicky Enterprises, Pedro Cao.

All the Cuban pastries are made at the Vicky Bakery commissary kitchen in Medley. Pedro showed our Melissa Marrero how to make Miami's favorite pastry, the pastelito de guava y queso.

The pastries are pre-made at the warehouse then shipped to a location to bake. When they’re out of the oven, they’re topped with "almibar", which means syrup in Spanish.

The original Vicky Bakery location is located at 860 SE 8th St, Hialeah, FL 33010. There are a total of 16 locations in South Florida, with more opening soon. To find one near you visit vickybakery.com
