A South Florida digital printing company is making it their mission to make face shields for frontline workers fighting against COVID-19.

i2K Digital Solutions President, Cesar Casamayor, says he donated 100 face shields to Sweetwater police and is working with other police departments and hospitals in Miami-Dade and Broward.

“As a small business, we were like everyone else. We were put in a position that overnight our business came to a halt and it put everyone to think ‘what do we do?’. My business partner, Bert, actually saw a video on TV of someone doing this at a plastics company. We had material in stock, we started playing with it, and came up with a guideline,” said Casamayor.

Mayor of Sweetwater, Orlando Lopez, and Baltimore Ravens Superbowl Champion, Kipp Vickers, stepped in to help the i2K team. In just 10 days, the company made over 10,000 face shields.

“We’re prioritizing first responders but we’re also getting a lot of calls from businesses that are still operating and the employees want shields. So, we’re getting a lot of calls from businesses we all still go to, whether it’s a supermarket or a gas station,” added Casamayor.
