During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center has remained opened to serve the community during these trying times. They’re continuing to offer mental health and substance abuse services to those who are stable from a medical standpoint.

Our Kirk Gimenez interviewed Dr. Jared Gaines, the Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Gaines emphasizes the importance of mental health and says that they are still open for services such as initial psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual/family therapy. In response to the pandemic, they offer telehealth services such as contacting patients via Zoom.

Dr. Gaines also mentions the Valor Program, which gives first responders an initial psychological evaluation at no cost.
