Earlier this week, Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Carlos Gimenez, announced the reopening of parks with restrictions starting Wednesday, April 29th.
“The parks, waterways, and golf courses will be used in limited ways that require everyone to take personal responsibility and act as if they have the Coronavirus,” said Gimenez.
The reopening comes after a week of states working with task forces on ideas on reopening the economy.
400 people will be hired by Miami-Dade County to enforce social distancing at the parks.
Some of the rules Mayor Gimenez announced include:
-No more than groups of 10 should gather
-Facial coverings are mandatory
-Dog parks, skate parks, playgrounds, and exercise equipment are prohibited
-Walking, jogging, cycling, and skating are allowed, and you must bring your own ball if you are playing basketball or soccer
Anyone who refuses to abide these protocols will be fined up to $500.
