While many have been in self-quarantine and practicing social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, Miami-Dade County has already taken precautions for COVID-19 by setting up a temporary hospital located at the Tamiami Park fairgrounds.
During a virtual press conference, Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez stated that the temporary hospital is equipped with 250 beds and that they are ready to set up another facility of 250 beds in 72 hours in case of an overflow.
The facility can keep expanding if needed, upwards to a capacity of 2,000.
